Why Donate?
My name is Patrick and I founded Banma Market Garden in 2024.
I think I can safely say the majority are all feeling the pinch at the moment, some more than others, but our health is equally important across the board.
Food banks are in record demand, up around 80% over the past 5 years nationwide, with around 55,000 individuals using them, that’s 1 in 20 people living in Norfolk using food banks. The work these organisations are doing to help people is incredibly valuable, however they often fall short of the real food that most of its users really need. That’s why we believe in “Paying It forwards” and providing nutritional, healthy food grown sustainably in healthy soils as part of the solution.
If you can support our mission through donations or purchases, your money is going directly towards helping provide this service to the local community. The bigger this gets, the more people we can help!
Thank you!
Giving FAQs
-
“Banma” stands for “Grandma”, a tribute to the elders and matriarchs that gently guide and nurture us often in unseen ways, planting the seeds of hope, inspiration and care for future generations.
-
We have a limited number of veg boxes available for repeat purchase, and currently around 50% of the harvest is donated. Whatever else we have is put on a stall outside the garden available for purchase to the general public.

Donations go directly towards helping me make this more of a full time endeavour. I currently do around one (long) day a week with evenings spent creating content and doing admin, much of the work currently goes unpaid, with large costs for infrastructure (I’m sure we’ve all seen Clarksons farm) being paid for out of pocket from my self employed gardening work.
If I can do this on one day a week, imagine what can be achieved full time or with a team!
